Take action

Write your federal Member of Parliament and your member of your provincial legislature expressing your concern for the dismal international record that Canada and its provinces have in protecting and promoting workers’ rights and demand they support fair and progressive labour law reform.

Draft and sponsor a resolution to your union, Federation of Labour or Labour Council condemning the use of labour laws that restrict or deny the fundamental rights of workers and proposing that progressive labour law reform be a central focus of labour’s political agenda. (Sample Resolutions).

Write your own opinion column for your local newspaper or union newsletter.

Talk to anyone and everyone who will listen about Canada’s poor record at protecting and promoting workers’ rights and the need to restore fairness in Canada’s labour laws.

Discover more about the relentless union-busting campaigns of multinational corporations like Wal-Mart at Walmat Workers in Canada.

Sign up for the news alerts at Walmat Workers in Canada.

Strike up conversations with Wal-Mart workers about the benefits of joining a union.

Look for a chance to talk with family, friends and neighbours about Wal-Mart’s long record of disrespect for human rights, workers’ rights and Canadian labour laws.
